In October 2017, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested Shiraishi Takahiro, a 27-year-old man, putting an end to a wave of disturbing disappearances of young suicidal women. Inside his small apartment, the police found the remains of eight girls and one boy neatly stored in containers and covered with cat litter and menthol crystals. Shiraishi was a street thug obsessed with violent sex, drugs, alcohol and domination. After his arrest, he unashamedly gave the police the brutal account of his nine murders, even describing the immense pleasure he had taken in them, regretting only one thing: having been caught and being unable to continue his mission as an executioner.
